BELMAR, NJ — Belmar property owners can now pay their tax and water/sewer bills on line, beginning with their February payments.
On Belmar’s website, account information can be accessed by clicking here, where property owners can also get detailed information on their property’s zoning classification, land and improvement values, deductions and current tax rates.
Property information can be obtained through the online system by searching by name, property location, lot and block number, or tax or utility identification number.
A convenience fee is charged for using the online payment system — $1.05 for paying by an automated clearing house (ACH) transaction or e-check, or $3.95 for paying by a personal Visa debit card. The fee for other debit and credit card payments will be about 2.95 percent of the total bill, according to the website.
The borough will continue to accept payments by mail or in person at the municipal building, 601 Main Street.
Belmar has partnered with Edmunds & Associates, a Northfield-based company that specializes in web-based solutions for a variety of municipal functions, including tax and utility billing and collection services. In New Jersey, it has provided software management services to Toms River for 23 years.
