BELMAR, NJ — Silver Lake’s resident swan family is missing — last seen on June 22 waddling along Ocean Avenue southbound.
To make sure they are in a safe location, Belmar Mayor Brian Magovern is asking if anyone has spotted the adult pair of swans and their cygnets. He believes they may have settled on Lake Como, which has more vegetation than Silver Lake.
This winter, it was the first time in many years that swans nested on the lake’s center island and could be seen throughout the spring on the lake and along its banks.
Magovern can be emailed at email@example.com.
