BELMAR, NJ — A 32-year-old Belmar man has been charged with 18 narcotic-related offenses after a raid by Belmar police resulted in the seizure of a multitude of drugs and a large sum of cash, police said.
Zachary Long, whose 12th Avenue address was not disclosed, was arrested at the scene on February 1 during the execution of a search warrant by the Belmar Police Detective Bureau, following a lengthy investigation into a narcotics distribution operation, police said.
Long was found to be in possession of cocaine, steroids, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (ecstacy/molly), Xanax, clonazepam, amphetamines, liquid and wax THC, and marijuana, as well as scales, packaging material, hypodermic needles and a large, undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
Long’s charges include first-degree possession with intent to distribute more than 5 ounces of cocaine. His charges were placed on a criminal warrant and he was transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution, Freehold, in lieu of bail. He has since been released, according to a Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office inmate search.
