Popular as holiday gifts, seasonal beach badges for 2018 can be purchased from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Belmar Municipal Building, 601 Main Street.

BELMAR, NJ — Looking for a holiday gift for a beach-goer? Seasonal beach badges for 2018 can be purchased from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Belmar Municipal Building, 601 Main Street.

Cost is $55, $15 for seniors over age 62, and $15 for individuals with disabilities. Cash, check or credit card ($1 transaction fee per badge) will be accepted for purchase.

Badges can be purchased by mail by including an additional $9 per order for shipping and handling costs.

As for a stocking stuffer to go along with that beach badge, also available for purchase at the municipal building are Belmar magnets, priced at $5 each.

WASHINGTON, DC — Some 207 million eggs from a farm in Hyde County, N.C., have been recalled due to possible salmonella contamination. One Confirmed Case of E. Coli in Monmouth County Linked to Chopped Romaine Lettuce

TRENTON, NJ — Chopped romaine lettuce grown in Arizona is likely the source of an E. coli outbreak that has sickened at least seven New Jersey residents, including one in Monmouth County, according to federal and state health officials.

No specific grower, supplier, distributor or brand has been blamed for the outbreak, which has affected 35 people in 11 states, according to the U.S.
