BELMAR, NJ — When St. Catharine’s School in Spring Lake needed T-shirts for its second Christmas 5K, Big Frog Custom T-Shirts & More jumped right on it.

Owner Doug Hahner  met with Kristen Cichon, an event organizer, and they were off to a fast start, deciding on shirts and a color that would complement the festive red, green and white logo, complete with a surfing Santa. Big Frog also was quick to become a sponsor.

An order for 600 shirts was placed with plenty of time to spare before the December 2 event — until a shipping snafu at the UPS Customer Center in Tinton Falls delayed delivery. To spare any further issues, Hahner and Big Frog graphic designer Andy Cavallaro went to the Hope Road facility, picked up the boxes of shirts and delivered them directly to an extremely satisfied customer — the day before the race on December 2.

“Doug and his staff couldn’t have been more helpful,” Cichon said. “It was a little stressful there at the end. But Doug was awesome and went above and beyond. And everyone just loves the shirts.”

While the race is over, the school made sure to order enough shirts to sell them afterward. “With the race and the T-shirt sales, we want to raise as much money as we can to benefit St. Catharine’s athletic programs, Cichon said.

Pleased that everything worked out in the end, Hahner said that building lasting relationships is what it’s all about in the custom printing business. We hope to be able to make many more shirts for St. Catharine’s in the future,” he added.
