BELMAR, NJ — Talk about bringing his business to the party. That’s exactly what it took when Big Frog Custom T-Shirts and More owner Doug Hahner was asked to custom print nearly 200 shirts during Lawn Doctor’s national convention recently held in Atlantic City.

Packing up not only the shirts and materials needed to meet his customer’s needs, he also loaded up a garment heat-press from his Belmar store’s high-technology garment decorating system. And then it was off to Harrah’s Resort, where he set up his “pop up” operation for the convention, which was marking Holmdel-based Lawn Doctor’s 50th year in business for its franchisees throughout the country.

Because of that milestone, Hahner’s mission was to create celebratory shirts that included three items — the Lawn Doctor special “Championship” logo, the number “67” to mark the year the company was founded and each person’s name across the back.

As a result, Hahner had quite a task on hand, literally — since he had to place a total of more than 550 graphics on the nearly 200 shirts right there, on the spot.

“I did all the placements by hand with the help of a small spacing template, but keeping the graphics aligned and straight was all done by eye,” he explained. “It was quite an undertaking, but everyone was pleased with the results. Even now, I am working on some additional shirts from those who are to be given theirs after the convention.”

But those will be a bit easier to do, now that he’s back at this state-of-the-art store, located in Belmar Plaza, around the corner of Main Street and Eighth Avenue.

Get Inspired at Big Frog of Belmar

Big Frog Custom T-Shirts & More is where customers can design their own custom-logo’d apparel, right there on site with the help of specially trained graphic designers.

Color-splashed displays of all styles of shirts and other items — from aprons and towels to pet and baby items — adorn the space’s apple green walls. Two computer design stations sit at the front of the store, while the high-technology garment decorating system occupies the back of the space, showcased by a floor-to-ceiling rainforest mural.

Big Frog’s cutting-edge technology is the best in the business — direct-to-garment printing that bonds ink to the fabric’s molecules, allowing products to be washed in hot or cold water and with color-safe bleaching without risking damage, cracking or peeling of the image.

And it offers a host of amenities, including no design or set-up fees, no minimum quantities, volume discounts starting at 10 items of any assortment and a 24-hour turnaround time on in-stock merchandise.

Big Frog/Belmar located behind the Belmar Beach Haus Brewery on Eighth Avenue and Main Street. It is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 732-749-7700, email belmar@bigfrog.com or visit its website at bigfrog.com/belmar.
