Day also to be marked by official ribbon-cuttings at three businesses — Every Little Heart Childrenswear, Antoinette Rose Boutique, Jersey Mike's Subs
BELMAR, NJ — Bring the family to Belmar today, November 23 when Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in town for an afternoon of photo-snapping and face-painting fun.
The Clauses will be setting up shop from noon to 5 p.m. inside Creativity Lab, 809 Main Street, where they will be posing for pictures with the public — free of charge for anyone with a camera. In addition, Mrs. Claus, aka Dot Your Face, will open her satchel of paint, glitter and other make-up magic for face-painting fun. Cost ranges from $2 to $5, depending on the design.
Also be entered to win a free birthday party from Creativity Lab, a makerspace for people of all ages to explore today’s technologies through hands-on projects. Just bring an unwrapped toy, book or game for a child ranging in age from 2 months to 19 years and drop it into the jumbo collection box that’s part of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh and Belmar Police Department’s holiday toy drive.
The day will also be marked by the grand openings of three new downtown businesses — Every Little Heart Childrenswear, located in Pyanoe Plaza, Antoinette Rose Boutique, which recently moved from Route 71 to 908 Main Street, and Jersey Mike's Subs at 500 Main Street.
Sponsored by the Belmar Business Partnership, the event is being coordinated by Pat Tecza, chairperson of its promotions committee and owner of Nostalgic Nonsense Vintage Clothing at 903 Main Street.
And if you’re in town after dusk, watch the downtown area come alive with its new dazzling display of holiday lights. Street poles wrapped in white lights along each side of Main Street for 11 blocks create a stunning runway effect that is not to be missed — another project of the BBP.
