It’s ‘Play Ball’ for Belmar-Avon-Lake Como Little Leaguers

LAKE COMO, NJ — Belmar-Avon-Lake Como Little Leaguers stepped it up this morning for their season’s Annual Opening Day Parade. The youngsters, their coaches and family members gathered at Main Street and 18th Avenue in Lake Como and then marched to their fields on 22nd Avenue, where opening ceremonies were held.

Some 80 youngsters are part of the league, which consists of boys’ baseball and girls’ softball teams, with players ranging in age from 4 to 14. Now in its 52nd year, the league is seeking business sponsorships and donations to help fund uniforms and equipment. Visit its Facebook page for details.
