LAKE COMO, NJ — The countdown has begun to the 23rd annual Lake Como Day, which returns to the picturesque banks of the lake on Saturday, September 29.
Vendors and sponsors (see list below) are currently signing up for borough’s marquee event, which features an afternoon of festivities that culminates with fireworks bursting over the lake at dusk. From 4 to 9 p.m., a wide array of attractions for the entire family will be situated along the lakefront on North Boulevard.
There will be food vendors serving up a variety of menus, as well as a beer and wine tent. Dozens of merchants also will be selling a wide assortment of wares — from hand-crafted items and homemade goods to jewelry and clothing. There also will be informational tables staffed by representatives of local, business and county services, as well as nonprofit groups.
Children will enjoy a host of activities, including free face painting, bouncy castles and obstacle courses. Live entertainment will be provided by Timepiece, a rock ‘n’ roll band that has been a Jersey Shore favorite for more than 20 years.
And organizers expect this year’s celebration will be bigger and better than ever, as interest from the community continues to grow.
“We have vendors and sponsors signing up, and there always room for more,” said Deputy Borough Clerk Amy Boney, who oversees planning of the Lake Como Tourism Commission-sponsored event.
