TRENTON, NJ — The state Motor Vehicle Commission will resume written knowledge tests at 21 licensing centers — by appointment only — beginning Monday, August 3.

Be prepared to provide your permit number and to take the knowledge test, which is a prerequisite for getting a valid New Jersey driver's license.

There are limited appointments available, due to social distancing requirements, and the MVC is only scheduling 30 days in advance at this time.
