NJ State Bicycle Championships Event Returns to Plainfield

PLAINFIELD, NJ — The New Jersey State Bicycle Championships will return to Plainfield's Queen City for a second year, with races on Sunday, May 7 that leave from City Hall.

All levels can participate, from professional cyclists to amateur riders. A public safety challenge will include Plainfield police, firefighters and other public safety officials, as juniors and kids will be able to compete, too.

The races will both start and finish at City Hall, and registration opens at 8 a.m. The course is 1.1 miles flat four corners, and will head out from Watchung Avenue to East Second Street, to Park Avenue and East Seventh Street, and return back to Watchung Avenue to end at City Hall.

The City of Plainfield will also present its Taste of Plainfield, an annual food festival showcasing diverse foods that represent the community.There will be family-friendly activities, and fun for all.

City Hall is located at 515 Watchung Avenue, which is accessible via New Jersey Transit on the Raritan Valley Line.  Parking will also be available in the Union County College parking lot at 232 East Second Street in Plainfield.
