Primary Petitions Filed for Belmar and Lake Como Council Posts

BELMAR/LAKE COMO, NJ — Petitions were filed earlier this week by candidates running in the June 6 primary election for open seats on both the Belmar and Lake Como’s borough councils.

For the three-year seat on the Belmar council, Democrat incumbent Thomas Brennan filed a nomination and Josh Vallario, who lost a council bid last fall, is running again as the Republican candidate.

In Lake Como, Democrat incumbents Kevin Higgins and John Carvelli submitted petitions for another three-year term each, and Christopher D’Antuono, who was appointed to a council post vacated by Michael Noonan in January, is vying for that unexpired one-year term.
