LAKE COMO, NJ — Work is scheduled to get under way today, July 7 on North Boulevard as part of the state-funded road improvement project that began last month.
With the project completed along Main Street from 21st Street to North Boulevard, Jads Construction Co. now will continue along North Boulevard to Ripley Lane with repaving and related work. The South River-based company received a $530,000 contract for the project — the lowest bidder among five firms.
In a July 7 letter by borough engineer Bruce Koch of CME Associates, North Boulevard residents who live in the affected area are being asked to move vehicles from their driveways and from the street while the work is being performed.
One lane of traffic is expected to be maintained during the day and two lanes at night. Watch for detours when the street will need to be closed to all traffic. No work is expected to be done on weekends or major holidays unless necessary.
The project is being funded through a state 2018 Local Aid Infrastructure Fund grant, administered by the state Department of Transportation (DOT) for addressing emergencies and regional needs.
