Serenity by the Sea's Sarah Taylor Izzo will be outside her shop of wonder and delight at 53 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove, from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 13. Come visit and get your dose of serenity.
OCEAN GROVE, NJ — Serenity by the Sea has added a new item to its popular Serenity Treasures packages — a handcrafted face mask, made from a fabric in the theme of your choice.
Now each Serenity Treasures package includes eight specially selected items “to keep the zen state of mind flowing when we need to bring some positive vibes into our lives,” said shop owner Sarah Taylor Izzo.
Visit the Serenity by the Sea website and select your theme — beach, pet or floral — and she will assemble a package of specialty items just for you — from her custom-designed hotholders and hand-poured candles to charms, bracelets and other novelties adorned with words that motivate, affirm and encourage. And now a face covering, created in that theme, will be part of the magical mix.
While Izzo’s specialty boutique at 53 Main Avenue in Ocean Grove has been closed due to the coronavirus, she has been making face masks for adults and children by special order and in her special way — sewn from the vibrant, colorful and bold fabrics that make her handcrafted items so unique.
Serenity the Sea has also introduced its own custom-designed T-shirts, made from soft, eco-friendly bamboo fabric and boasting a mandala-inspired design, and a tote bag, featuring original artwork of Ocean Grove’s iconic tents by Donna Ferris. It’s made from sturdy canvas with strong handles.
Serenity by the Sea's website offers a glimpse into the little shop of wonder and amazement, and where many of its handcrafted and specialty items can be ordered online for any special day.
As for Serenity by the Sea’s reopening, Izzo is extremely anxious to welcome back visitors into the store. Until then, she may be seen on the weekends outside her shop with a select array of items for purchase, including T-shirts, bandanas, sage, and even her Serenity Treasures and colorful face masks.
“What a delightful way to spend a few hours before I can be fully open,” she said. “If you need something specific — CBD oil, incense, a bamboo toothbrush, sunglasses, the best soap around — I will go inside and get it for you,” she said. “It’s a nice welcome home for a brief time. I miss my town, I miss the store, and I miss you all. But we’re almost there.”
