Registration for the Summer Basketball League closes on June 1.

BELMAR, NJ — It’s the trifecta this summer for Belmar youngsters looking for action on the track, basketball court or soccer field.

Registration is now open for the following organized activities:

The Summer Basketball League will run from June 26 through August 8, with a season of six games that will be played in the recreation gymnasium, located at the Municipal Building, 601 Main Street.

The league is open to children in second through eighth grade. Each participant plays in the grade that he or she is in as of May 2019. Current eighth-graders will be able to participate. Children in grades two through four will play on the lower baskets.

Cost is $45 for Belmar Elementary School (Belmar and Lake Como residents) and St. Rose Grammar School students; $55 for nonresidents.

Kids Running Club is open to youngsters entering grades four through eight as of September 2019. It will meet two nights a week from late July through late August.

Participants will learn the basics of running, while being part of a team.

Cost is $35 for Belmar Elementary School (Belmar and Lake Como residents) and St. Rose Grammar School students; $60 for nonresidents.

Belmar, Avon-by-the-Sea and Lake Como (BALC) Recreation Soccer, which begins in late August, is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through eighth grade.

They first participate in clinics in August, providing them with the opportunity to practice the basics of soccer before being placed into teams for practices and games. Cost is $45 per person.
