As Miss New Jersey, Glab continues on her whirlwind journey throughout the state in preparation for the 2020 Miss America Competition, will be aired live at 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 19 on NBC. It is being held this year at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn.

Glab became Miss Jersey on June 15 at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, chosen from an original field of 28. The 19-year-old is a graduate of Belmar Elementary School, Red Bank Regional High School and Brookdale Community College, Lincroft.

Blattner, a crossing guard at Belmar Elementary School, has served as a volunteer at countless events and activities throughout the years in the borough. He also is a member of the Belmar Public Library Board of Trustees.

Blattner joins an elite club of past Citizen of the Year recipients who have gone “above and beyond” for the benefit of the community, including Patricia Provenzano, Claire Deicke, George Komitas, Brian and the late Jane Magovern, Eugene Murray, Thomas Volker, Belmar First Aid Squad and Belmar Woman’s Club.

This year’s event, to be held at the popular Route 35 banquet facility overlooking the Belmar Manutti Marina, will begin at 6 p.m. with a cocktail hour and hot hors d’oeuvres. Dinner and dancing will follow, with music by Holme.

Black tie is optional. Tickets are $100 per person, and there are a variety of sponsorship and ad journal opportunities available (see below).
