Union County's Model Railroad Club Gives Public Free Look at Trains in Action


UNION, NJ — Model train fans are in for a treat on June 10, when The Model Railroad Club waives its Saturday admission fee for the public to view its annual invitational operating session.

The nonprofit railroad club’s sprawling HO scale layout, located at the A. Paul Mallery Model Railroad Centerin Lenape Park, is noted throughout the region for intricate detail and historic portrayal.The free entry also includes a multilevel N scale layout and other exhibits.

A convenient snack shop, gift shop and toddler play area are all part of the Mallery Model Railroad Center, located in a mixed use area of Union County’s Lenape Park, off Route 22 East in Union Township under a longstanding arrangement with the board of freeholders. All ages are welcome to attend the event, which will be held from 1 to 4 p.m.
