NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ  — TAPinto.net is pleased to announce that Cathy Goetz, veteran journalist and former Director of Public Relations and Marketing at Monmouth Medical Center, has franchised TAPinto Belmar/Lake Como

Goetz has more than 35 years of combined experience in the fields of publishing/multimedia, journalism and public relations. Since 1999, she has been at the helm of Words Count Publishing, an editorial services business based in Lake Como that will now have TAPinto Belmar/Lake Como as its flagship operation.

"TAPinto Belmar/Lake Como is giving me the opportunity to return to my roots as a reporter and editor, and now publisher," said Goetz, who has lived in Lake Como/Belmar for the past 20 years. "As a longtime resident of the community, I hope to bring the news of the day to everyone in Belmar and Lake Como in a new way — online and available in real-time 24/7. We call it 'hyperlocal,' and it represents an exciting time in hometown-driven journalism."

Prior to launching Words Count, Goetz was Director of Public Relations and Marketing at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, after serving as Managing Editor of Home Textiles Today, a New York City-based Progressive Business Media news organization, and previously as Executive Editor of Business Journal of New Jersey magazine and Editorial Director of Garden State Home & Garden magazine.

After graduating from Rutgers University's Douglass College, New Brunswick, Goetz became a staff reporter with The Home News in New Brunswick before joining Business Journal of New Jersey Inc., the Marlboro-based publishing company specializing in niche business markets.

TAPinto CEO and Publisher Michael Shapiro said, "We are thrilled to have Cathy join our growing family of owner/publishers.  The launch of TAPinto Belmar/Lake Como marks our first site in Monmouth County and we look forward to many more launching in the months ahead."
