BELMAR, NJ — Belmar History Society has unveiled an expanded array of holiday gifts that herald the borough’s colorful and illustrious past.

This collection of memorable keepsakes features a variety of wall art made from vintage maps and postcards, books full of photos and personal recollections of Belmar’s bygone days, etchings of the grand hotels that once graced the streets and other unique items that are only available through BHS.

“With the holidays quickly upon us, remember that when you are looking for a unique memorable gift for that special someone, you can find one-of-a-kind treasures only in Belmar,” said Pat O’Keefe, vice president of the all-volunteer group, whose mission to save and preserve Belmar’s history. “Each item is as special as our wonderful town, and the prices exceptionally easy on your budget.”

Below is the flier of all items for sale, ranging in price from $1 for Union Firehouse postcards and $2 for 1915 “Rules for Teachers” lists and Ocean Beach fliers to $100 for a commemorative brick for the patio around the Spirit of the Doughboy statue in the park under the Route 35 bridge.

All items can be purchased at the BHS museum, located at 900 E Street in the annex of the historic Union Firehouse. Appointments are required and visitors will be limited to two at a time wearing face coverings.

The museum is open to the public every Monday from 2 to 4 p.m., every Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon and the second Saturday of each month from 1 to 3 p.m. To make an appointment or for more information, call BHS at 908-309-3380 or email at
