Waves on Main: A ‘Go-To’ Destination for the Finest Dining and Musical Talent

On Saturday, August 5 at Waves in Main in Belmar, Mario Marcal will turn back the musical clock with tunes from the 1960s and 1970s.
Veal pizzaiola is prepared with the most-tender cutlets topped with tomatoes, garlic and olive oil.
Arugula salad with roasted peppers and fresh mozzarella is drizzled with olive oil and balsamic dressing.
Fruit and greens is topped with blue cheese and white balsamic dressing.
Waves on Main is conveniently situated at the corner of Main Street and 10th Avenue in Belmar.

BELMAR, NJ — It will be another music-filled weekend at Waves at Main in Belmar.

On Saturday, August 5, Mario Marcal will turn back the musical clock with tunes from the 1960s and 1970s. His unique touch makes the sounds of yesteryear come alive. Entertainment begins at 7 p.m.

 “During this entire summer, we have been attracting the finest talent to our restaurant, and this weekend is no exception,” said Kathy Farese, co-owner of the landmark restaurant, conveniently situated at the corner of Main Street and 10th Avenue.

“So grab a bottle of wine and join us for a relaxing evening where you are certain to enjoy homemade fresh food and superb entertainment,” she said. “It’s never the same old, same old here.”

While Kathy is making sure each guest’s dining experience at Waves on Main is a personal and pleasurable one, chef and co-owner Lou Farese will be in his state-of-the-art kitchen, preparing locally sourced seafood coming right off the boats, cut-to-order steaks grilled to everyone’s personal liking and other specialty entrees from its contemporary coastal American menu.

Each dish is prepared to order, whether it’s baked sea scallops in lemony garlic butter splashed with white wine, a hearty 16-ounce New York strip steak or veal pizzaiola made with the most-tender cutlets topped with tomatoes, garlic and olive oil.

On the lighter side, there is arugula salad with roasted peppers and fresh mozzarella, and fruit and greens, topped with blue cheese and white balsamic dressing.

For dessert, a full assortment of creations from Deescakes of Freehold boasts homemade pies, cakes, tarts and its highly acclaimed cheesecake.

Waves on Main is open Tuesday through Friday for lunch and dinner, and Saturday and Sunday, for brunch, lunch and dinner.
