A veteran of the Israeli Defense Force who established an organization that helps address challenges faced by active-duty soldiers will be the guest speaker at a benefit reception in Neptune on Tuesday, June 11. The event will benefit Magen David Adom, Israel's national EMS organization, which works closely with the IDF to treat injured soldiers and supplies the IDF with blood for the wounded.
Sergeant Benjamin Anthony founded Our Soldiers Speak after serving in the Israeli Defense Force. The organization provides briefings and analyses on the challenges faced by IDF soldiers in combat situations. Anthony served in combat several times, including the Second Lebanon War of 2006, Operation Pillar of Defense in 2012, and Operation Protective Edge in 2014.
Currently serving in the IDF reserves, Benjamin has lectured at various colleges around the country and been a keynote speaker for several organizations. He has also spoken at AIPAC's Annual Policy Conference in Washington, D.C.
Originally from Iran, Dr. Nehmad moved to the United States at just 12 years old in 1994. After graduating from Yeshiva University, Nehmad served as a volunteer EMT at Magen David Adom's William H. Bloomberg Emergency Medical Station in Jerusalem. He credits his time with MDA with inspiring him to become a doctor. He currently serves as an attending physician at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. In addition to his work at the hospital, Nehmad is an active leader with American Friends of Magen David Adom's New York Board.
The benefit reception will be held at Jumping Brook Country Club starting at 6:30 p.m. More information about the event can be found at www.afmda.org/nehmador contact Emily Posner at email@example.com or 646.388.7504.
