BELMAR, NJ — Superheroes and cartoon characters, mixed with a smattering of scary creatures and even a Rubik’s cube, ruled Main Street today during Belmar’s annual Halloween Parade.
The October 28 procession kicked off from the Belmar Municipal Building, where nearly 100 children, family members and friends were led by the Belmar Elementary School Eagle Band who provided the marching music.
Several Main Street businesses handed out treats as the lively group proceeded two blocks to Pyanoe Plaza, where they were greeted by even more live entertainment, courtesy of the Beach Music Rock Band from Belmar-based Beach Music Studios.
Prizes were awarded to first- and second-place winners in multiple categories and age groups — from preschool to eighth grade.
