BELMAR, NJ — For car buffs, there is something fascinating about peeking under the hood or peering through a window of a car from yesteryear — an opportunity they recently had dozens of times in downtown Belmar.
Despite the hot and humid weather and growing threat of thunderstorms on July 17, nearly 100 classic and vintage cars were showcased in Belmar Plaza for the summer’s first Cruise Night, sponsored by Belmar Business Partnership. It was the first time the event was held in the plaza, moved from its longtime location on Main Street.
With the cars lined up on the east side of the parking lot, attendees got an up-close look at the meticulously maintained vehicles, some dating back to the 1920s. And whether they were the car owners — or those who wished they were — conversation was all about the cars as a DJ played oldies throughout the three-hour event.
Billed as one of its signature events, BBP will hold its next Cruise Night on Thursday, August 22. Rain date is Wednesday, August 28. Registration and admission are free.
For more information or to register a vehicle, contact BBP at 732-894-9022 or firstname.lastname@example.org. A sign-up table will also be set up on the night of the show.
