Take Virtual Tour of Current Fiber Arts Plus Show

BELMAR, NJ — Belmar Arts Center closed its gallery on March 21 until further notice — an announcement the BAC Board of Trustees made in an email the previous day.

“We are all facing extraordinary and unprecedented times. The BAC Board of Trustees — like the rest of the world — has been closely tracking new developments related to the coronavirus. Out of an abundance of caution, and due to the ‘social distancing’ recommendations from CDC and local and state health officials, we have made the difficult decision to close the BAC gallery,” the board said.

Currently, the Fiber Arts Plus Show is featured in BAC’s two main galleries, and the Plein Air Exhibit is on display in the BACroom Lounge.

Last week, BAC last week canceled or postponed all classes, events and shared interest groups through April 1 — a date that now has been pushed back with the announcement that its gallery is now closed indefinitely.  In addition, all calls for art dates will be adjusted accordingly.

“There are more questions than answers at this time, we do not know when we will reopen, we do not know when we will be able to reschedule classes, workshops, and/or events at the BAC, however all of our instructors, exhibit committees and event planners are ready to reschedule when we can,” the announcement said.

Once BAC reopens, it plans to hold a reception for the Fiber Arts Plus Show. Meanwhile, below is a virtual tour of the show, presented by BAC Chair Beverly Miller.
