BELMAR, NJ — “The Polar Express” will roll into the Belmar Community Center on Friday, December 13 for a special showing for Belmar children and their parents.

The holiday classic movie, starring Tom Hanks that’s based on the book by Chris Van Allsburg, will begin at 5 p.m. at the center, located at 503 Seventh Avenue.

Attendees are encouraged to wear their pajamas, and bring sleeping bags and blankets. Refreshments will be served.

The nearly two-hour film is about the adventures of a young boy who doubts the existence of Santa Claus — until he boards a mysterious train called the Polar Express on Christmas Eve, headed to the North Pole.

Reserve your spot by signing up at the Belmar Public Library at 517 10th Avenue, your child’s school or on the library’s Facebook page. The deadline for sign-ups is Saturday, December 7.
