BELMAR, NJ — Just in time for the hectic holiday season, an evening of relaxation, music and song with Grammy nominee 13HANDS will be featured tonight, November 16 at the Belmar Community Center.
Dalien, aka 13HANDS, will present Stress, Sleep and Sound™, an interactive presentation and concert that explores how vibration, sounds and music can reduce stress and boost the immune system. The free program begins at 7:30 p.m. at the community center, located at 503 Seventh Avenue, Belmar. Doors will open at 7 p.m.
During the two-hour performance, Dalien takes audience members on a journey in which he shares his personal health challenges with Crohn’s disease/colitis and other severe endocrine system disorder, and explains how he has found healing through natural lifestyle and food choices, yoga, martial arts, and music and song.
Playing a variety of instruments — from Native American flutes and steel pan drums to guitars — and creating soundscapes, he orchestrates a backdrop of ambient sound that fosters a sense of relaxation in the nervous system.
Then through interactive song and world chant, he brings everyone back from the relaxation experience, encouraging them to sing and engage in what he calls “an incredibly joyful, life-affirming community-building experience.”
