BELMAR/LAKE COMO, NJ — A tornado watch in is effect for most of central and southern New Jersey, including Monmouth County, until 6 p.m., while a high wind warning will remain in place until 7 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service, strong to potentially damaging winds are expected, with the fiercest wings to be near the coast, where gusts of 60 to 70 mph are possible. Tree damage and power outages are anticipated.
The following counties are included in the tornado watch: Atlantic; Burlington; Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Salem, Somerset, Sussex and Warren.
