BELMAR, NJ — Get ready for a rumble in Belmar Plaza on Wednesday, July 17. That’s when some 150 vintage and classic cars will roll into town for Cruise Night — at its new location.
The popular, family event is moving from Main Street to just steps away in the expansive parking lot of Belmar Plaza, located between Eighth and 10th Avenue, where cars dating back from the 1920s to the late 1990s will be on display from 6 to 9 p.m. There will also be motorcycles from yesteryear included in the mix.
“We hope all come out Wednesday to see the vintage cars,” said Sal Marchese, president of the Belmar Business Partnership (BBP), the event’s longtime sponsor. “Cruise Nights are one of the special events we provide for great family fun. So come and add stroll down memory lane and maybe enjoy some great Belmar fun food in and around the plaza.”
While the plaza’s parking lot will turn into a sea of shiny, meticulously maintained cars, there will be a DJ spinning tunes from the 1950s and 1960s. In addition, many downtown merchants and dining establishments will be joining in the festivities.
For more information or to register a vehicle, contact BBP at 732-894-9022 or firstname.lastname@example.org. A sign-up table will also be set up on the night of the car show.
Rain date is Thursday, July 18. Registration and admission is free. The summer’s second Cruise Night will be held on Thursday, August 22.
