BELMAR, NJ — Twenty Belmar Elementary School students reached the highest level of academic excellence this school year, earning them special recognition from the school board.
At its May 30 meeting, the Belmar Board of Education presented the select group of sixth- through eighth-graders with certificates for earning a 93 or higher in all subjects, including related arts, for three marking periods.
The result of “taking the hard path … and putting forth that extra effort,” the accomplishment is not just about the grades, School Superintendent David Hallman told the group. Rather, he said, it’s about remembering the habits and what it took to achieve this success.
The students who attained high honor roll status were:
■ Sixth grade: Winter Archer, Emily Black, Daren Chen, Katherine Minchala-Ramirez, Daniela Panetta and John Wheeler.
■ Seventh grade: Matthew Donovan, Renee Herbert, Christina Misnik, Scarlett Morton, Ryan Orlowski and Josephina Trotta.
■ Eighth grade: Christopher Greenlow, Ella Herbert, Gavin Lisko, Ethan Miller, Julia Nicolay, Jasiya Robinson, Gracey Tolomanosi and Hannah Wilton.
