BELMAR/LAKE COMO — Four current members of the Belmar Board of Education are looking to maintain their seats on the 10-member board, according to the Monmouth County Clerk’s Election Division.
Filing election petitions were incumbents Kimberly Chek and Rebecca Herbert who are seeking three-year terms and Mark Furey who is looking to fill a one-year unexpired term left by Lisa Miller, who resigned in January.
Robert Preston, who recently was appointed to replace Miller, is running for a full three-year term.
In Lake Como, Debra Russo is looking to extend her incumbency for another three years. She has served on the five-member school board for eight years — six of those as president.
Carol Hope is not seeking re-election, as there were no petitions filed for the second full-term seat. The deadline for petitions was July 27.
The general election is November 3.
