FREEHOLD, NJ — The deadline to vote in the November 5 general election is today, October 15.

To register in New Jersey you must be:

  • A U.S. citizen.
  • At least 18 years old by Election Day.
  • A resident of the county for 30 days before Election Day.

You are not eligible to register to vote if:

  • You do not meet the above criteria.
  • You are serving a sentence or on parole or probation, as a result of a conviction of an indictable offense under state or federal law. (Once you have finished any sentence and have completed parole or probation, you will need to re-register.)

Voters can register until 9 p.m. today at the Monmouth County Clerk’s elections office, 300 Halls Mill Road, Freehold, and also at municipal clerks’ offices. The Belmar Municipal Building at 601 Main Street is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the Lake Como Borough Hall at 1740 Main Street is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition, the free “Monmouth County Votes” mobile app is available on the Apple App and Google Play stores.
