BELMAR, NJ — Belmar is easing its way into the world of online services — offering residents the convenience of registering for recreation and library programs, as well as purchasing 2019 beach badges via the internet.
And most recently, property owners now can view their tax and water/sewer account information on the web, and will soon be able to make online payments of these bills.
The borough has teamed with CommunityPass, a Ridgewood-based company that offers communities a registration and payment hub for programs and activities, The Belmar website can be accessed by clicking here.
Currently, the borough’s “online catalog” includes Belmar Public Library programs for children and offerings at its Community Makerspace, Recreation Department’s Youth Club, and 2019 beach badges for purchase. (Please note that while beach badges can be purchased on line, they still need to be picked up in person at the Belmar Municipal Building. Badges will not be mailed.)
Online registration for summer camp and reservations of Taylor Pavilion are expected to be added over the next several months.
Users can search by name, property location, lot and block number, or tax or utility identification number.
An online payment system for taxes and water/sewer is expected to be in place next month for use in the new fiscal year. Payment by mail or in-person will continue to be accepted.
Belmar has partnered with Edmunds & Associates, a Northfield-based company that specializes in web-based solutions for a variety of municipal functions, including tax and utility billing and collection services. In New Jersey, it has provided software management services to Toms River for 23 years.
