LAKE COMO, NJ — Lake Como tax and water/sewer bills can now be paid online through the borough’s website.
Property owners can access tax and water/sewer utility account information on the Lake Como home page or directly by clicking here. Property information can be obtained by searching by name, property location, lot and block number, or tax or utility identification number.
It also provides detailed information on a property’s zoning classification, land and improvement values, deductions and current tax rates.
“We’re keeping up with technology to make it easier for residents who work during the week to pay these bills,” said Lake Como Council President Douglas Witte. “They can now do it at home any time and on weekends.”
The borough is also looking to expand the online service for construction and other permits, he added.
There are convenience fees charged for using the online payment system — $1.05 for paying by ACH or e-check or 2.95 percent of the total bill when paying by debit or credit cards, according to the website.
In-person payments and those placed in the dropbox located in front of borough hall at 1740 Main Street will continue to be accepted.
Lake Como has partnered with Edmunds & Associates, a Northfield-based company that specializes in web-based solutions for a variety of municipal functions, including tax and utility billing and collection services. Belmar began utilizing its tax and water/tax paying system in February.
