OCEAN GROVE, NJ — It’s free charm Friday today at Serenity by the Sea, where it’s always about creating beautiful things.
The specialty boutique at 53 Main Avenue in Ocean Grove is offering one charm from its expansive line of “Just Charming” DIY jewelry with every purchase of $5 or more, giving you a reason to start a keepsake for yourself or to give to someone special.
There is a vast array of charms — in different styles, shapes and themes — that can be used to create keychains, necklaces and bracelets or wherever your imagination takes you.
“We have so many charms, there’s something for everyone — to fit their personality, to symbolize what they love, to express a thought, to tell their story,” said shop owner Sarah Taylor Izzo.
Choose from gold, silver, copper and antique brass in creating your piece of jewelry, which can include as many charms as you like beginning with your first free charm. Be bold with an affirmation message or be subtle with a grouping of charms that reflects your interests or captures a memory.
For those who feel overwhelmed by the world, Diane Todd will be offering her “Highly Sensitive People” workshop at 9 a.m. on Sunday, December 1.
“Are you easily overwhelmed by such things as bright lights, strong smells or sirens nearby? Do you pick up on the energy of places and other people? Do crowds bother you? Do you need to have alone and quiet time after a busy day? Do you make it a high priority to avoid overwhelming situations? When you were a child, did your parents or teachers see you as sensitive or shy? Do you feel things deeply?” asks Todd, a certified reiki master/teacher, who also practices craniosacral therapy, integrated energy therapy, reconnective healing, among other holistic techniques.
Participants will learn about highly sensitive people, the pros and cons of being an HSP and how to cope with having this trait.
Cost is $25. Call 973-699-1760 to reserve your space.
These events are part of Serenity by the Sean’s continuing ‘It’s All Within the Zen” series, which features a variety of artistic and holistic offerings. For more information on upcoming programs and workshops, visit its Facebook page.
