BELMAR, NJ — It was a weekend of celebrations for Belmar residents — all to benefit youth programs in the borough.

A sold-out gathering attended the Mayor’s Ball on September 27 at the Waterview Pavilion, where Mayor Mark Walsifer and the Belmar Council recognized Belmar resident and reigning Miss New Jersey Jade Glab and presented Bruce Blattner with the Citizen of the Year award.

And the night before the gala, some 50 youngsters enjoyed an evening with a DJ, dancing and pizza during the Children’s Ball at the Taylor Pavilion. Held in conjunction with the Mayor’s Ball, the event was orchestrated by Belmar resident Antoinette Raucci, the mom of two attendees, who wanted to bring back the event after a year’s absence.
