BELMAR, NJ — It may have been a little louder than usual at the Belmar Public Library last Friday. But the one hour of children’s chatter was certainly for a good reason.
Some 30 Belmar Elementary School preschoolers visited the library for a tour that included looking through the books in its children’s section and having a special story time — just for them, courtesy of assistant librarian Peggy O’Connor.
For many, the October 25 visit was their first time inside the large brick building at the corner of 10th Avenue and E Street, where reading is always fun.
“The children also received donated books, cookies, bookmarks and pencils. They had a blast,” said pre-K teacher Patricia Glab, whose class teamed with pre-K teacher Carly Tancredi’s students for the field trip.
