BELMAR/LAKE COMO, NJ — Second-grader Matty Pesce proves that Belmar Elementary School students certainly do have talent.

He captured first place in one of Belmar Police Department’s latest Facebook contests for his guitar solo of “When the Saints Come Marching In” — a performance that also included a shout-out to the police department for sponsoring the effort as students continue home instruction. (see video above).

In the department’s second contest — a word scramble — Maxx Wortman was able to complete the challenge in the least amount of time in the fourth- through eighth-grade division, while preschooler Ava Vasquez did the same in the pre-K through third-grade contest.
