FREEHOLD, NJ — A 30-year old man on a bicycle at the Asbury Circle was seriously injured when he was struck by a motor vehicle on Friday evening, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
The unidentified victim was riding a bicycle on the Route 35 circle in Ocean Township at about 6:46 p.m. on November 2 when he was struck southbound by a 2016 Jeep Cherokee, officials said in a release.
The injured male was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, where he is in critical but stable condition. The driver of the Cherokee came to a stop after striking the man and remained on the scene, said prosecutor’s office spokesman Christopher Swendeman.
The driver’s identity has not been released and no charges have been filed, pending an investigation by the prosecutor’s office, Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team and Ocean Township Police Department.
