BELMAR, NJ — CBD Wellness, a specialty retailer that bills itself as “helping educate consumers on the many benefits of CBD,” has opened at 1004 Main Street.
The Belmar Business Partnership recently welcomed the store to the downtown district during a ribbon-cutting led by Mayor Mark Walsifer and BBP vice president Thomas Burke.
The shop, owned by Jeff Lereah, Darren Prince and Jerry Hug, carries multiple CBD brands, offering the “highest quality products sold at the most-competitive prices,” according to its business description. It is the third store for the business owners, who have locations in Hackensack and Union.
CBD or cannabidiol, which is derived from hemp, has entered the mainstream market for the promise it shows to help relieve chronic pain, anxiety, depression and other disorders. While hemp and marijuana both come from the cannabis plant family, the CBD compound does not have an elevated concentration of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive component associated with producing a “high.”
Hours of operation at CBD Wellness are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information, call 848-404-9060.
