5th Annual Charlie Blecker Youth Triathlon Rescheduled to June 14

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The Berkeley Heights Community Pool has rescheduled the 5th Annual Charlie Blecker Youth Triathlon to Saturday, June 14 at 9 a.m. with check-in at 8:30 a.m.

This fun community event is for any child between the ages of 7 and 12 to come swim/bike/run. Athletes will be grouped by age: 7/8 years old, 9/10 years old and 11/12 years old.

This year's raffle sponsors include Berkeley Heights YMCA, Berkeley Heights Recreation, BH PAL, Wharton School of Music and High Gear Cyclery.

Charlie Blecker was a member of the BHCP Board of Trustees for many years before losing his battle to cancer in 2012.  He was a well known member of the Berkeley Heights community, and invested much of his time to the youth of Berkeley Heights.  It was Charlie's dream to bring this Youth Triathlon to Berkeley Heights, and the Berkeley Heights Community Pool is proud to continue to be a part of his dream.

BHCP membership is not required to participate in the Charlie Blecker Youth Triathlon.

Chatham Township Police Report Mercedes-Benz Stolen

CHATHAM, NJ - On Sunday, Aug. 21 a 2016 Mercedes-Benz was stolen from a Plymouth Drive residence sometime in the overnight hours.

The theft was reported after the owner discovered the vehicle missing later that morning. A key fob for the vehicle had been left in another unlocked vehicle in the driveway. This case remains under investigation.
