The Academy of Our Lady of Peace Volleyball program now boasts both a varsity and junior varsity GIL League team as well as an intramural team. More than forty middle school students joined the growing program and competed this year. All three teams had a great season, growing in confidence and sharpening their skills at every level.

The GIL League is comprised of eight Catholic elementary schools within the Archdiocese of Newark. The Academy “Panthers” varsity team fought hard throughout the season and qualified for the League's “Final Four” after beating Our Lady of Sorrows in the quarter-finals.  The Panthers then played the number one seeded St. Joe's squad in the semi-finals. Unfortunately, a nervous start in Game 1 and a better-played Game 2 were not enough to beat the league champions. The Panthers finished the season with a respectable record of 9 wins and 7 losses.

The Panthers Intramural team played against St. Elizabeth’s, The Assumption School and St. Patrick’s. The team improved tremendously and ended the season with two decisive victories over St. Patrick’s.
