Acai Bowl Craze Comes to New Providence at Bagel Cafe

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - Bagel Cafe, your neighborhood stop for hand-rolled bagels, healthy specialty sandwiches and salads, and freshly brewed locally-roasted coffee is now your neighborhood fix for Acai Bowls.

What is an Acai Bowl? The main ingredient in the bowls is the acai berry which comes from acai trees native to Central and South America. The bowls, typically eaten as a breakfast or lunch meal -- or as a healthy snack choice for most teens and everyone in between. The bowl can be filled with fruits, nuts, seeds, and more.

The acai bowl menu starts with the base -- either Acai or Pitaya (frozen pulp), agave or honey and a selection of toppings that includes coconut flakes, all natural peanut butter, all natural almond butter, chia or flax seed, hemp hearts or raw nola (blend of oats, cacao powder, coconut flakes, chia, flax seed, and cinnamon) and Nutella.

The menu features six bowl options to satisfy your craving: Simple (banana, blueberry, strawberry, coconut flakes and nola), Berry Good (strawberry, blueberry, blackberry and nola), Staycation (banana, mango, blueberry and nola), Eazy Breezy (strawberry, pineapple, kiwi and nola), A Little Nutty (banana, kiwi, strawberry, peanut butter swirl and nola), and Purple Haze (banana, strawberry, Nutella and nola). Bowls come in one size for $8.95 plus add-ons.

The bowls are served until 5 p.m., so come by after school for the refreshing Acai and Pitaya treat.
