BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Columbia Middle School students performed in the Fall Drama Workshop on Tuesday afternoon at the school in front of a full audience of family and friends.
The Fall Drama Workshop is a chance for every student to get up on stage and perform, said Diane Corley, Columbia Teacher Advisor of the Drama Club.
The fall performances teach these students about stage presence and classical theater. They learned scenes from famous shows [and not so famous shows] and learned how to project, along with everything else that goes into timing out a good performance.
The student actors performed scenes from the following plays: The Skin of Our Teeth; The Heiress, The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds; You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown; Steel Magnolias; Little Women; The Skin of Our Teeth; Harvey; End Days; The Importance of Being Earnest; Picnic; Charlotte's Web; The Miracle Worker; Brighton Beach Memoirs; Little Foxes; Lost in Yonkers; The Miss Firecracker Contest; When Wendy Grew Up; and Project North.
Auditions for the spring production of The Secret Garden will take place in early December.
