Spring has come to Berkeley Heights! That means families, community groups, and businesses can “Adopt-a-Sign”— a popular annual opportunity to volunteer--and make Berkeley Heights even greener and more welcoming.
In 2020, these families, organizations, and businesses each adopted a “Welcome to Berkeley Heights” or park sign and planted a tiny garden at its base:

Jeanne Kingsley, Berkeley Heights Council President and Founder of the Downtown Beautification Committee, said,“We are so thankful to them! Each group cleaned their sign, weeded, and planted at least twice in 2020 to make our Berkeley Heights signs look beautiful for our residents and visitors. This program gives residents and businesses a chance to contribute to our community on a schedule that works for them while expressing their creativity. Some of the Troops and families even decorate the signs for Halloween and other holidays.”
Volunteers can choose from a wide variety of plants that are well-priced, hearty, and beautiful, including daylilies, black-eyed susans, and more, and can buy them at any retailer.
