Come to the New Providence Library and hear Dr. A. Michael Noll and Dr. Michael Geselowitz discuss Bell Labs in its golden days through the stories of 12 diverse individuals who worked at Bell Labs in Murray Hill during that time.   The authors strived to show the variety, innovative spirit and creative energy as well as give a flavor for the culture of the Labs through people as different as a chauffeur, a glassblower, a patent attorney, various inventors and the revered leader of research during that period, Dr. William O. Baker.

A. Michael Noll is professor emeritus at the Annenberg School for Communication at USC and an early pioneer in digital computer art and 3D animation at Bell Labs in the 60’s and early 70’s.  His co-editor Michael N. Geselowitz is Senior Director of the IEEE History Center.

New Providence Library is located at 377 Elkwood Avenue in New Providence, NJ.  Visit us on the web at or call at 908-665-0311
