BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ – Dr. Patrick R. Smith of Smith Chiropractic Family Care & Sports Injury Center presented a donation of $750, raised from the 2017 Berkeley Heights 5K Charity Road Race and Fitness Walk, to cover the cost of Governor Livingston High School’s ImPACT testing program for the current school year.

“Every year since the ImPACT testing program started at GL, the Smith Chiropractic Foundation underwrite the cost of the ImPACT test," said Dr. Patrick Smith. "It has helped many, and I strongly believe in it. We are happy to do it."

"It is meaningful to me because I have known these student athletes for many years and I know how hard you work. It is meaningful to us at Smith Chiropractic Foundation to be in the company of such greatness here at GL," said Dr. Smith.

"We strongly support the need for the ImPACT testing program at GL, which helps to establish a brain function base line for participants in contact sports and activities and then assists in allowing a participant who is suspected of sustaining a concussive injury to recover fully before resuming contact activities,” said Dr. Smith. “Thanks to all of those individuals – runners, walkers, volunteers, and patrons - who made our 2016 Berkeley Heights 5K a success and thereby allowed us to make a donation to fund this very important program at Governor Livingston.”
