BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ — Ahead of November's general election, which will be primarily vote-by-mail, Union County Board of Elections Administrator Nicole Dirado announced the installation of secure ballot drop-off box in Berkeley Heights for this upcoming November 3rd General Election.
For Berkeley Heights residents wishing to drop off their ballot in a secured location, the local box in town will be located at Snyder Avenue Park at 240 Snyder Avenue. It is among seven that are currently open throughout Union County. Dirado said her office plans on opening a total of 22 in upcoming weeks.
Boxes are under 24/7 camera surveillance and picked up on a daily basis by a bipartisan team of Union County Election Board employees.
For voters who still need to register, forms to complete the process in English or Spanish may be downloaded from the Union County website or picked up in person at the County Clerk's Office or from local municipal clerks, or from a Motor Vehicle Agency office.
They are due back to the County Clerk no later than 21 days before the general election, Nov. 3, which this year is Oct. 13. In order to be eligible to vote, you must be a United States Citizen, at least 18 years old by the next election and a resident of your home county for 30 days before the election.
