BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Berkeley Heights ranks number 63 in New Jersey Family’s "Best Towns for Families" 2015 List, published this week on njfamily.com. Nearby, New Providence ranks number 8 and Chatham Borough ranks number 9. Chatham Township ranks number 30.

New Jersey Family rated 512 communities in New Jersey, eliminating towns with fewer than 1,500 residents. According to the site, statistics were compiled on tax rates, average home sale price, public school ratings, crime rates, median household income, the percentage of families with children under the age of 18, average travel time to work and the proximity of restaurants, hospitals and grocery/convenience stores. They then used an algorithm to produce the list.
