BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The Berkeley Heights Public Library kicked off its full calendar of summer activities with ScienceTellers "Aliens Escape from Earth Program." The children's section was full of excited children who witnessed science experiments that brought the story to life. There were several opportunities for the children to have a hands-on experience with science magic.

The library has scheduled activities throughout the summer that will entertain children of all ages. 

Tuesday, July 9 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. - Good Tyme String Band. This ensemble of banjos and guitars play sing-a-long songs for all ages.

Wednesday, July 17, 2 to 2:45 p.m. - Touch the Music. Hear the music and try the instruments. PreK - Grade 2.

Monday, July 22, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Monday Aug. 5 - Tween Sewing Workshop. Make a zippered pencil case with Ellen Brown. Sign-up required. Ages 8-10.

Friday, July 26, 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. - Peas and Carrots. Music for ages 0 to 5.

Tuesday, July 30, 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. - Magic Show with Brian Richards for entire family.

Thursday, Aug. 8 at 7 p.m. - Telescope Night with John Miller of Pearl Observatory. View the Moon's craters, Jupiter's clouds and other wonders of the Universe. (Rain date Aug. 13.) All ages welcome.

Paper Plate Story Times: Tuesdays, July 16 & 23, Aug. 6 & 13 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Ages 3-5

Mother Goose on the Loose: Thursdays, July 11, 18 & 25, Aug. 1, 8, & 25 from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Books, Music, Rhymes and Play. Ages 0-24 months.

Additional programs may be added.
