BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Berkeley Heights Public Library, in partnership with RBdigital from Recorded Books now offers FastPencil for Libraries, an electronic resource for creating and preparing original works for publication.
FastPencil for Libraries allows Berkeley Heights Public Library patrons to create, collaborate, format and distribute their books using one simple-to-use online service. Library users have the option to start new projects or upload existing ones. FastPencil enables patrons to write, organize, and edit books using the service’s online interface, which includes a variety of templates and designs. FastPencil also features collaboration tools that allow patrons to share progress and receive feedback from the FastPencil for Libraries community.
A unique feature of FastPencil is that library patrons have the option of posting their projects as free eBooks to OneClickdigital, Recorded Books’ audiobook and eBook platform. With the availability of OneClickdigital at thousands of libraries worldwide, including the Berkeley Heights Public Library, this grants patrons a simple way to gain exposure for their works.
“Libraries everywhere are filled with people who dream of publishing their novels, plays, poetry, short stories, fan fiction, family histories and memoirs,” said Rich Freese, Recorded Books president and CEO. “FastPencil for Libraries makes that possible.”
“FastPencil is easy to use. You can start right in and have your book outlined chapter by chapter very quickly. You can also use the free tutorials if you need help creating your book, or stop by the library reference desk for a quick demonstration of how FastPencil can get you published quickly.” – Anne deFuria, Reference Librarian at Berkeley Heights Public Library.
